She threw herself into her roles with a kind of whole-hearted energy; given the sort of roles they usually were, it was perfect.
Lana Turner knew how to command attention. 
When she was discovered by the publisher of the Hollywood Reporter at the Top Hat Café, a 15-year-old girl playing hooky from high school,that was quite deliberate on her part, I think.
She got more sophisticated by the 1950s. I remember her wearing glamorous blouses like this by then.
It was a good time to grow up.
