Of the Highlands.
Single-malt scotch distilleries. The Old Course. Loch Ness. The Isle of Skye. The Highlands. Ah, Scotland.
You can't throw a featherie without hitting a castle, strewn about as they are.
Of particular interest here is Grant Castle, the ancestral home of Clan Grant. It sits just north of
Grantown-on-Spey, and has since the 15th century.
Here, the dark blue, black, and green plaid known as the Black Watch tartan has its roots. It was worn first by the six “watch”
companies (Clan Munro, Clan Fraser of Lovat, Clan Grant and
three companies from Clan Campbell) that once patrolled the Highlands. Since this particular tartan is not designated as royal, anyone can don it with impunity. I find it's especially handsome as a tuxedo jacket, as you see here.
Blackwatch Tuxedo Jacket (No. J8041). Traditional tuxedo jacket in blackwatch tartan plaid wool twill with a striking silk blend lapel. Features three exterior pockets and a variety of interior pockets. Cotton bemberg lining. Silk-covered shank buttons match lapels. One button at front closure; four at each cuff.
For your formal events, certainly, but well-suited for more casual soirées, too. With denim, corduroy, chinos. Imported.
