North of the U.S. border is this whole other country. It's big. Maple leaf on the flag. Plains, fields, forests, mountains.

It's rumored that the inhabitants are mostly trappers and lumberjacks. I don't think this is completely accurate. Having traveled there some, I've not noticed nearly enough red flannel or buckskin on display to support that sort of nonsense.

However, in a second-hand clothing store in Prince Rupert, B.C. (where more flannel could be seen than seemed in good taste), I found what I was looking for.

The proprietor, who appeared dependable, swore that it was brought in by a gentleman who retired from the lumber industry in the 1950s.
