But there’s new science to suggest that what we wear can actually change our psychological processes.

It’s called enclothed cognition and refers to the effect of clothing on a person’s psychological functions. (This is different from how what we wear affects the people we encounter.)

Study participants processed information differently when they were wearing, for example, a white lab coat.
